What is Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi?

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sammann Nidhi (PMKSN) also known as PM Kisan Yojna, is an initiative by the government of India in which all farmers will get up to ₹6,000 per year as minimum income support.

It was announced on 1 February 2019. It comes into effect from December 2019. Each eligible farmer gets ₹6,000 per year in three installments (₹2,000 each) which is directly deposited into their bank accounts. The scheme will cost ₹75,000 crores per year.

How To Register For PM Kisan Yojna?

If you are an eligible farmer, and you have not applied or register for Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi yojna yet, then you can take the benefits of this scheme now easily.

Don’t worry, if you don’t know how to register for this scheme. Follow these simple steps to complete the registration:

  • Go to https://pmkisan.gov.in/
  • Search for Farmers Corner on the right-hand side
  • Click on the New Farmer Registration (first option)

  • Enter your Aadhar Card Number and fill the Captcha
  • Now click on the Search button
  • A pop up will come up with a “Record Not Found With Given Details” message, click on the OK button

  • Now select your category, if you are from a village area, then click ‘Rural Farmer Registration‘, or if you’re from a city area then click on ‘Urban Farmer Registration

  • After selecting your category, click ‘Yes’
  • Now a form will show up.
  • Fill in all the details and click on ‘Submit For Aadhar Authentication

  • If everything is good, a ‘Yes, Aadhar Authenticated Successfully!!!‘ message will show up.
  • Otherwise, a ‘Not Authenticated, Please check the details as Name or Aadhar No!!!‘ message will show up. In that case, check the details and try again.
  • Now after successful authentication, fill the form below as well.

If you fullfil these conditions:

  • Farmers from both the urban and rural areas.
  • Small and marginal farmers families.
  • Landholding farmers’ families with arable landholding in their names can apply under this scheme.

If you belongs to following categories:

  • Institutional landholders
  • Beneficiaries with higher economic status are not eligible.
  • Those who pay income tax
  • Farmer families holding constitutional posts
  • Professionals like doctors, engineers, and lawyers
  • Retired pensioners with a monthly pension of over Rs 10,000
  • Present or retired officers and employees of state/central government as well as PSUs and government autonomous bodies.
  • Farmers have to approach the local revenue officer (patwari) or a nodal officer (nominated by the state government)
  • The Common Service Centres (CSCs) have also been authorized to do the registration of the farmers for the Scheme upon payment of fees

Aadhaar is mandatory. Apart from Aadhaar, citizenship certificates, landholding papers, and bank account details have to be submitted to the concerned authorities.
